International Project

I am very excited this week! I will be leaving for Costa Rica in 10 days!!! I can't even begin to explain how excited I am. I was born in Costa Rica and moved to the US when I was 7. We went back every summer the day after school was out and came back home the day before school started up again! So I guess you could say we lived about 3 months in Costa Rica and the rest of the year here. They were fantastic vacations spent at my grandma's house, who I always miss so much. As we grew older, we had more obligations and weren't really able to leave for the summers like before. It's been 3 years since I have seen my family. I saw my grandparents about 2 years ago when they came for my wedding but of course it's never enough and parting is always so hard. So I've been preparing for the trip and making little gifts for my cousins and aunts. They love my stationery and I really like the thought of giving them something I've made especially for them. I particularly enjoyed making one present and that is for my aunt Leda. She is very crafty herself and has started a small business selling her handmade dolls. Apparently, she has quite a following in our little town and I'm very excited to see and photograph her dolls so I can show them off. I figured what better gift than to make her some business cards! So that's what I made her. Here is the design. I am printing and cutting them out now. Hopefully she'll like them as much as I enjoyed making them.

A Wedding to Remember
So I finished a huge project and got permission from the bride to post it. She has been getting fantastic feedback about the invites and keeps telling me everyone is asking who made them. I can't describe how wonderful it is to hear that!
So I had to make 125 wedding invitations in 2 weeks. It was quite a challenge but it has been very rewarding and I took pictures every step of the way to document it all.
All the pieces are printed out here. I printed everything on 11" x 17" paper.

Here are the sheets on the paper cutter and the pieces of matte cardstock I had already glued together to frame the invitation.
Here are the invites and RSVPs glued onto the matte card stock. They looked great!
